I am Hassan Najmy, a Maldivian writer and photographer. This guide grows from a lifetime of observing the country’s islands, people, changing light and surrounding sea.
Why this site exists
Useful questions before beautiful promises
Travel advertising often begins with a villa. I prefer to begin with the island: its transfer, beach, reef, atmosphere and relationship with the surrounding atoll. My aim is to help visitors understand those differences and travel with more attention.
This is a personal publication with travel-enquiry and promotional features. Hassan can introduce readers to participating businesses and ask about offers. This site does not take payments or issue booking confirmations; the seller confirms the service and its terms. Some qualifying bookings or purchases may earn commission. Read the relationship disclosures.

Personal work, planning guidance and promotion are different.
Personal writing and photography
Hassan’s writing and photographic work form the personal side of the site. The photography page links to his public collections. Explore his published books on the Books & Writing page. A photograph from a supplier is identified separately; it is not evidence that Hassan visited or inspected the business.
Practical planning guidance
The guides organise travel choices into questions, comparisons and worked examples. They are not live booking systems, guarantees of conditions or first-hand reviews of every place mentioned. The trip comparison distinguishes accommodation from day visits and individual activities. The cost example uses explicitly fictional figures to show how to compare quotes.
Supplier information and independent context
Promotional pages retain information and photographs supplied by businesses with permission. Those descriptions remain attributed to the supplier. Separate planning notes explain what a reader still needs to establish before booking. An award announcement is linked to its source rather than treated as an inspection of the operator’s safety or service.
AI assistance and illustrations
AI tools assist with drafting, organising and maintaining parts of this website, including planning comparisons. They are not a source of first-hand experience. AI-created concept images are labelled and should not be used to judge a real hotel, beach or reef. Supplier photographs and Hassan’s photographs are identified separately.
Changes and corrections
Rates, inclusions, transfer arrangements and operating requirements can change. Treat undated supplier details as information to reconfirm, not a current promise. If something is wrong, email Hassan with the page address, the detail concerned and a source or explanation. Personal recommendations should be distinguished from information supplied by a business.
